Devta Kala Kendra (DEVTA KALAKENDRA PRIVATE LIMITED) is a DPIIT-recognized, founder-led maker of eco-friendly Ganpati idols, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Mumbai with a clay-craft workshop in Alibaug. We handcraft Shadu Mati, Paper Lagda and plantable Tree Ganesha idols using natural pigments and no Plaster of Paris โ so that, in our words, "Tradition & Nature go hand in hand."

DEVTA (Devta Kala Kendra Private Limited) was established in 2021 by Er. Tushar Talari, a visionary engineer and entrepreneur. Tushar realized that while the community's love for Lord Ganesha was boundless, the millions of Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols immersed in natural water bodies were causing severe, long-term ecological damage to the beaches and marine life of Mumbai and coastal Maharashtra.
"Bappa represents creation. Immersing toxic plaster into our sacred oceans is contrary to His teachings. Bappa must return to nature โ cleanly, as soil and water."
Combining modern material engineering with traditional sculptors' ancestral knowledge, Tushar built an eco-friendly devotional workshop rooted in natural materials. In 2023, the company earned DPIIT recognition under Startup India and an export licence (Import Export Code AAJCD6094K). Today, Devta runs production across Mumbai and coastal Alibaug, handcrafting biodegradable Ganesha idols from Shadu Mati clay and upcycled paper pulp โ with no Plaster of Paris โ sold across India and exported to 16 countries including the US, UK, UAE, Australia and Singapore.
Engineer-led, artisan-driven. The Talari brothers carry every Bappa idol from clay block to your doorstep.

An engineer and product designer leading the vision to replace polluting Plaster of Paris with biodegradable Shadu Mati clay and upcycled paper pulp, and to build Devta into a DPIIT-recognized eco-devotional workshop.

Oversees day-to-day operations across our Mumbai and Alibaug units โ managing artisan teams, production schedules, and quality control.

Devta uses Shadu Mati (100% natural unbaked clay), upcycled Paper Lagda (paper mache from organic paper pulp with vegetable-starch binders), and plantable Tree Ganesha made with red soil, organic compost and embedded seeds. Idols are finished with food-grade natural pigments such as turmeric, red geru and multani mitti. No Plaster of Paris, plastics, or chemical paints are used.
Yes. Devta Kala Kendra is registered as DEVTA KALAKENDRA PRIVATE LIMITED and is recognized under the Government of India's Startup India program by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). It holds an Import Export Code (IEC: AAJCD6094K) for exports.
The idols are made from natural Shadu Mati clay and upcycled paper pulp instead of Plaster of Paris, hand-painted with food-grade natural pigments, and shade-dried for 14 to 21 days rather than oven-baked. Because they contain no PoP, plastics or chemical paints, the clay idols are designed to dissolve back into water during visarjan.
