A Tree Ganesha is a plantable eco-friendly Ganesh idol hand-molded from natural red soil, coco peat, organic vermicompost, cow dung and water-soluble organic glue, with vegetable and flower seeds embedded inside. There is no Plaster of Paris, no plastic and no chemical paint. After visarjan in a flower pot at home, the soil dissolves into garden soil and the embedded seeds (tulsi, marigold, ladyfinger, tomato) sprout into a plant.

Let Tradition & Nature Go Hand in Hand

An in-depth look at how the plantable Ganesha cycle transforms ritual into new botanical life.

Transforming Visarjan into Life Creation

For years, the conclusion of Ganesh festival meant immersing idols in ocean waters, causing heavy environmental distress. Plaster of Paris (PoP) idols refuse to dissolve, while toxic synthetic paints choke our fish.

Devta's plantable Tree Ganesha offers a beautiful, respectful solution. Instead of sending Bappa away to a crowded beach, you keep Him in your home forever in the form of a thriving green plant. You perform immersion right in your balcony or garden, in a pot. The holy red soil holding His form melts to nourish embedded seeds, keeping His energy alive in your daily household.

Each plantable Bappa is hand-molded in our workshop from natural red soil blended with coco peat, organic vermicompost and cow dung, using a water-soluble organic glue instead of plaster or polymer binders. The seeds are aged and pressed in at depth before the idol is shade-dried, so they stay viable until visarjan. Learn more about our materials and artisan process.

How germination works

The seeds are aged and embedded at depth within Bappa's base, which helps prevent premature rot. With gentle indirect sunlight and a little water each morning, sprouts typically appear 7 to 12 days after visarjan.

Tree Ganesha FAQs

Everything you need to know about growing Bappa into a beautiful green plant.

What is a Tree Ganesha?
A Tree Ganesha is a plantable eco-friendly Ganesh idol hand-molded from natural red soil, coco peat, organic vermicompost and water-soluble organic glue, with vegetable and flower seeds embedded inside. There is no Plaster of Paris, no plastic and no chemical paint. After visarjan in a flower pot at home, the soil dissolves and the embedded seeds sprout into a plant.
Do I need a special flower pot for visarjan?
A standard clay or ceramic flower pot with a bottom drainage hole is perfect. The pot diameter should be at least 12 to 14 inches to easily accommodate Bappa's physical size and hold the dissolved soil comfortably.
How long does Bappa take to dissolve in the pot?
When you place Bappa inside the pot and pour water slowly over His head, the natural red soil absorbs the moisture and begins to slide down. The entire idol melts down into rich garden soil within 30 to 45 minutes.
How many days do the seeds take to sprout?
Keep the pot in a warm place that receives gentle indirect sunlight, and water it slightly every morning. You will see green botanical sprouts emerging from the holy soil in 7 to 12 days.
Is the Tree Ganesha eco-friendly and safe to immerse at home? (पर्यावरण पूरक / पर्यावरणपूरक)
Yes. The idol is made only from natural red soil, coco peat, vermicompost, cow dung and water-soluble organic glue, with no Plaster of Paris, no plastic and no chemical paint. Because you immerse it in a flower pot at home and it dissolves into garden soil, nothing is released into rivers or the sea. For more on sustainable immersion, see our eco-friendly visarjan guide.
